Well, it has been a while since my last blog. I am trying to get the hang of this, but just can not seem to remember to post my blogs. A lot, has gone on since then. I am saddened by my realization that my precious little baby girl is 10 months old and less than 2 months she will be a year old. As I type this I am trying my hardest to hold back tears of sadness! I am thrilled that she is growing and learning, but I really do miss my little baby. I know that she is really still a baby, but not the little baby that does not crawl, squeal, speak small words, stand up, sleep all the time! I miss those days! Another issue I am having lately is that my daughter, Amelia, is starting to throw tantrums!!!! :-( It is kind of cute, but I do not want her to start acting that way when she does not get what she wants. She will straighten her fat legs out, shove her belly up in the air and grunt! I have been reading up on this issue and it is very comment for babies to start to express this feeling or action around 10 months of age. Everything that I have read states that you need to ignore them. Play or do something else and when they quiet the tantrum then you may show them attention, by picking them up or playing a game with them. It is going to be hard, because I hate to see Amelia cry, but I do not want her to act that way. Some times it can be embarrassing, so I am going to start working with her on getting this action or reaction changed before it gets to late. The earlier you work on this, the sooner it can be corrected, she she is so young.
On Amelia's 1st birthday party, I am way to excited! I am saddened, but EXCITED at the same time! My husband and I went this past weekend (my mother-in-law had Amelia) toy shopping. We went ahead and got all of Amelia's presents (well, there are still somethings that I want to get her that are not toys!). I have also purchased all of the place settings. We are going with the "princess" theme. I am although not buying the princess plates, napkins, table cover, etc. I have purchased the light pink plates and things like that. We are trying not to go overboard on this one because yes, she not going to remember this party, it is mainly for us, but I want it to be great too! I am going to have her a plain cake with a crown that I have purchased placed on top. I have found a great poem just for her that I am going to place in a frame or on a poster board with pictures of her all through the first year of her life! We are not going to fix a meal like most people do for the 1st birthday's, we are just going to have fingerfoods and CAKE of course! I am on the other hand stumped as to what the party favors could be. I have thought about being creative and making sugar cookies, but I am not a very good cook at all! I have thought about color books and crayons, but I just feel like those things are not good enough! If you have any suggestions, I am more than willing to take them! We are having nothing but family and extremely close friends that are considered family! We all can not wait for her to dig into the smash cake! Knowing my luck she will not touch it and I will have to feed it to her on a plate! She does not really like to get dirty. It is to funny, when she eats her meals and if she gets it on her hands, she will wipe her hands on her highchair tray till they are clean!

If you have any creative, yet simple ideas for a party favor for a 1st birthday, please leave me a message or a post.

OH, gees...This is my very first blog! I am new to this so please have patience. I was searching the web Friday at work (yes, I was bored) and came across several blogger websites. I thought that I would give this a try and see how it goes. Not sure what to really blog about though? What is a blog all about? What are they for? What do you type about? Who all reads them? Just too many questions I have about the new technology in life. I know that I am still young, 30, but just not hip with all this stuff. I am not sure I like to type about my life for total strangers to read and learn about me? Do you type recipes, day to day activities or only exciting things?
I have just seen so many times of blogs. One she gave recipes out. She made adorable monogrammed sugar cookies for when she had her little boy in the hospital (which beat the ol' cigar gum). One lady displayed her bows and crafty things she did. One other lady displayed her day to day life of her and her three children? I just do not think my life is that interesting. I have one child and she pretty much keeps me tied up when I am not at work (and you can see how busy I am right now!). Well we are going to see how this goes from now on. I am sooo proud of myself though for getting my first blog up!!! Now, if I can get this going.
